According to DNA India’s report, Farida Jalal said, ‘After Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, I got a call from Yash ji for Dil To Pagal Hai. Earlier I thought that after DDLJ he would not have any role for me, otherwise why would he not cast me in other films?’
‘Then one day Yash ji called and said- ‘I have a role for you. However, my son Aditya feels that you will not do this, so I said I will talk to you.’ Never say no to me and Adi. Let this continue. But after Dil To Pagal Hai, I expected this to continue but what happened? I was ready to maintain the relationship, but it will hurt if you cast someone else in my place.’
Recalling the time when Karan Johar offered Student of the Year to Farida Jalal, Farida said- ‘One day I was in my car and I got a call from Karan. Karan said that he wants me to play the role of a grandmother and I said of course I will do it Karan. Karan had forbidden me to call him in his office. Karan said in the office that I will call myself. Why did Karan say that? Because he knows that injustice was done to me in many ways.’
Along with this, Farida said that Karan’s production house made many films but did not offer me.
Finally Farida said- ‘I am hurt that people change their loyalties to such an extent that they never remember me. This is sad. I am very sad. I can say this clearly and openly. He was in his initial days and we were there to hold his hand. After a point of time, an actor also needs this.’
